Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has fitted the english made steel/plastic/needle roller type joints and had any issues with excessive play when fitted. In particular the steel cross floating >2mm in the bearing caps.

Cheers

Don't know if it is to do with tolerances in the manufacture of the yokes as I have had ones with the 2mm side play and others with none or maybe it is to do with the steel captive plate in the uni joints being different thicknesses. Whatever the cause, I have had no problems with the Quinton Hazell ones I've been using over the past 30 years. Problems only occur if they are improperly maintained ie: failure to keep the bearings greased.
