Post subject: | Seat Replacements |
Maybe this should be in modifications but i'll start it here and see what happens. I'd like to compile a list of all the different other model seats people have in their minis. I've heard of MX5 and Hyundai Getz, but i reckon we should post a list and pictures of the seats and peoples seat mounts anyone care to share? |

There have been a few threads on this, and there is such a thread as you propose on the UK mini forum (theminiforum.com) |

It'd be good to have a clear list showing what fits well...rather than lots of small threads. Here's a few I found if you wanted to get infor from them: A thread about engineer's cert. for fitting aftermarket seats http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=720893 adamstuart's thread http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=709765 Apparently Ford Festiva seats fit http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=671887 as mentioned, Hyundai Getz seats http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=662316 I'm putting 1990 Mazda 626 seats in mine, using the same mounts/holes as late leyland seats (on top of cross member) and some brackets. Not in yet, but i'll upload pics when they're in. good luck with the list ![]() |

Citroen BX 16-Valve front seats. Comfortable with adjustable bolsters so you can have a cruising seat and a race seat all in one. |

I have fitted a pair of Mazda MX5 seats. You need to swap them left/right so that the adjustment controls are near the handbrake otherwise they foul the door pockets. Suzuki Swift Cino / Barina seats fit, I sold a pair to a mini owner. Suzuki Swift Gti seats also fit and are very comfortable & sporty. I measured a set of the new Swift seats last night & they are 20mm narrower than the Gti seats, so should fit well. If anyone in Perth wants some, I know where you can pick up a couple of virtually new sets for $300 a pair. |

my biggest problem with the seating in my mini is my head in the roof. i'm only 6 ft tall so i'm looking to drop the seats down as far as possible. by my rough tests, putting the seats on the floor behind the crossmember as some people do will be too far for my arms to reach the wheel so i'm looking at mounting a seat at a similar front/rear location as original, but mounted flat on the crossmember not 2 inches above it. to do so i need the seat adjustments on the sides, not the front, does this lessen my options? cheers |
