Has any one ever fitted rear seatbelts in an 850? I am certainly happy to go to a seatbelt fitting station but just wanted to see if anyone else has done it before. As my youngest is nearing the age to be introduced to the Mini, I would love nothing more then being able to get both her and the fun sheriff in there. However that means fitting a proper child restraint and having decent anchor points installed, any thoughts?

I would take it to Littles in Blacktown.
They will do it properly and certify it.

Can't remember now. I have looked for the receipt as Chong was also looking into it, bugger me i can't find it now as it was 4 years ago now. They also give you a certificate saying they did the work

When I got mine done in around 2000, it cost me $60. Probably be closer to $100 now.

Approx. $60 to $100...thats good coin for the work and more importantly the signed certificate. The brackets and holes can be made in a half hour, but the peace of mind with the certification is worth more to me.

Jim isn't the parcel shelf on an 850 almost cosmetic in that it has NO strength?

hehe... none of em did, up until the Clubby.
I have a 6" x 6" bit of 3mm plate under mine for the 3 point harness top mount, it fits hard against the back seat.

Actually no idea on a 850 parcel shelf as I have never stuck my head in that area, don't think any one wants to see that...but you just made think their is a 4th anchored point for the baby seat which I have never looked for but have only seen from above infront of the speaker.
