I wondered where that had gone.

Built by a street machine fan rather than a Mini person. The flares were hand made by the local fibreglass specialist and cost a fortune. The wheels look like the originals - I always wondered why he went so overboard on the flairs.

In its prime it had a superclean (if somewhat gaudy) engine bay with all the wiring etc hidden behind custom made plates that lined the engine bay.

Cheers, Ian

Yeah had twin carbs and a nice chrome firewall. The engine bay looked quite neat! The interior was also different, had colour coded door cards and seats.

Looks a bit ordinary to me. Can someone post a pic of the original engine bay etc? Would be interesting to compare.

I guess in general you all say stay away?
Only asking cause I'm thinking of getting a registered mini that is in "okay" condition to bum around in. My bitsumissin magna is on its last legs, and I fear that it will die before I finish my project mini.
Not in any rush for one, but always keeping my options open.

For the price its not so bad. It comes with 10 months rego as well..
Thats at face value however, I've got no idea of the state of the floor pans or motor/gearbox. But if it runs and drives fine...

Would have thought that without the inner guards, safety would be compromised??

But I'm no expert.
