just went out to finish off putting my engine in meeni when i spun the driveshaft and just by chance discovered that it was locking up.. by that i mean i turn the wheel with suspension droop and the driveshaft becomes hard to turn and actually lifts the suspension up as the cv isnt cving... its in the inner cv as ive checked everything else and its all fine.. what could be causing this.. i did loose one of the balls out of it and bought one from northern mini parts.. im hoping its the right size.. they all look the same but when you push them into the holes some go in easy, one of them is difficult... ive tried two different cages with no change.. must be the ballbearings?

ps : for those who havnt guessed they are pot joint inner cv's

If the CV has been 'reconditioned' then it could well have 'funny' sized ball bearings, but usually bigger than original rather than smaller. It could also be a non-original Pot Joint.

Do you have adjustable or negitive chamber lower arms?

If you remove the drive shaft, does the diff output shaft turn over OK?

i "recondition" them all the time and have never had this problem... usually they go in without a fuss.. yes the inner pot spins fine without the driveshaft in there... i dont have any adjustable ned camber stuff.. even when the shaft is only slightly off centre the thing locks up

not a bent driveshaft is it?

put your jack under the lower ball joint and lift the wheel up, then turn the wheel
