I have been quoted $230 to resleeve and put a kit through my clutch master cylinder but I can get a new one for half that price. Are the new ones of a lesser quality or do I just need to ring around for another quote?

Unless you are doing it to keep the car original dont go down this route, you can get a new one for about $129 and if you do decide to get it sleeved get another quote, try ACT brakes in Molonglo mall in Fyshwick, they are new but old and have been set up with the staff from the places that were all bought out by the big lots

The place that does all the resleeving for all the brake shops in the ACT is in Queanbeyan of Yass road from memory turn off at the goodyear tyre shop and it is tthe last place on your right when at the end of the street, much cheaper for a litlls drive

Thanks, the car is not going to be original so I guess I will order a new one, just thought the new ones might not be as good.

Interesting info..I have both the clutch and brake masters that need to be sleeved (Tin Can Types0 but at those price I would not bother. But must admit putting them back together is not hard so I would do that myself

I think they have had a lend of you Stooge, i've previosly had my clutch slave cyl stainless sleeved , (cost $ 60 ) clutch master cyl done as well ( $100 ), but i did put them back together myself which is not too difficult but i think $230 is a bit rich as the kits are not that expensive.
