started looking for the air leak ( carbie was re bushed 4 weeks ago)
still nothing obvious so i pulled the thing of thinking that one of the gaskets had gone
boy did i get a nasty suprise

No to the best of my knowledge it hasnt been dropped the only thing i can think of is that I may of been a bit over zelous tightening the thing up or it wasnt dead flat not sure.

what i can't understand is why it didnt crack straight away it was fine for 4 weeks then all of a sudden it fails :? :?

any ideas?????

Could it be the steady bars on the engine are a bit sad and the engine has rocked back causing the carby to hit the firewall?

Not hard to alloy TIG weld it, but it's only a bloody HS4... I'd just pull another off the pile in the corner...
