Anyone know of a good supplier for STD flat top hillman imp pistons and rings?

just preparing for the worst, i may need to renew them depending on the engineering shops findings this week.

could find any listings on australian mini parts websites.

thanks in advance 8)

they are hens teeth these days (i've heard), and if your desperate you can get some custom made up (i think there is a company in wa that does it)

Others will know better.

just get another small bore block (998 or 1098 doesnt matter they are the same) this may be a cheaper option than having some custom made

yeh this is why i want to price how much they are. if they are rare and expensive then it is not worth going down that road.

JP pistons makes them, I would buy their rings but not the pistons.
If I wanted Imp pistons to go in a Mini I would import them.
PM me for reasons why.

You could try http://www.impwerks.co.nz/ in NZ, for something like a set of pistons postage isn't going to be a big deal.

I'm assuming that you want standard 875 pistons for a 1220 conversion, not the bigger bore 998 pistons. AFAIK there are no Imp specialists in Australia. .

I enquired at Impwerx NZ a few years ago and got quoted ~$800/set from UK for 875cc Imp (68mm) pistons. If available.
These were a good idea here 30 or 40 years ago, when we could buy them everywhere, but at the sort of prices now and lack of availability I'd go with Graham Russell's +.100" flat tops at under $300/set. To use these you don't have to mill .150" or so off the block like you need to with the Imp ones.

[edit] they give you 1188cc.
