Post subject:  making a mini-sprint van. chop or sprint?
hey all i have a van shell at home and was thinking of turning it into a mini-sprint type car.

either that or chopping the whole 3" off the roof instead.

just wondering about the cut lines around the front of the car/bulkhead that are required to do this and if it would look any good or would the length of the van make it look strange.

would really appreciate it if someone could come up with some pics of chopped vans or a photo-shop of a mini-sprint van?

i've done quite a lot of research on this but found nothing on vans so any help is appreciated

There was at least one Traveller/Countryman cut down by Neville Trickett (The Man) in the sixties.

This photo doesn't really do it justice, but they look quite good.

Cut lines around the front are the same as for a normal Sprint. You will find a few details in some of the threads on the (old) Mk1 Conversions forum. Mark Forster who runs the forum recently had Neville Trickett cut down a sedan for him and he gave some hints (although its Neville's trade secret) about how its done. Just cutting the shell isn't enough, there are a million other small parts that need doing too.

If you just chop the roof then you have to add a section into it.
