Being a mini addict like all on this board I was happy working away on my mini last weekend. I thought I may swap over a 998 cylinder head I had laying around for my van so I could clean the carbon out of the one currently installed. (preigniting and run over when switched off) So I began removing the cabon from the spare with a screwdriver when I slipped and stabbed my finger. Punctured my finger quite deeply but no blood, so fogot about and finished the job. Stayed fine and unnoticable for a week, until the thing decides to get infected n go all nasty n black pussy with nice red line running up my arm. I'm now $100 dollars worse off, for what started as a little nick. ![]() Now I wanted to ask if anyone has some real significant injuries from working and or racing these little beasts, Im sure many of you do. |

Stuck my fingers at the exhaust pipe once and held it there coz it was so hot that it took me a second to realise my fingers are cooking (I could virtualy smell it). Rinsed it in plenty of cold water and went to bed, the next morning boils upon boils. Couldnt use the two fingers for a month - and I deserved it for being a dummy. |

plenty of skinned knuckles. the worst would have been the time that I decided to do a "little" bit of grinding, and a piece of metal flew into my eye. i thought it would wash out in the shower, but it didnt. after a few days of it really bugging me (headaches, blurry vision), i went to the doctor and he referred me to a specialist who had to dig it out and clean out the rust! it was only a tiny thing, but cost me a wallet-ful of money. i had to learn the hard way to ALWAYS wear goggles - even for the "little" jobs. |

my dad got burnt on his shoulder pretty bad. about the size of a hand or so because a heater hose came off and when he open the bonnet it shot steam at him. |

When me and my little brother were pushing the mini in the back yard I ran over his foot. Luckily the mini was very light because we had removed the engine. |

I am there with the bumped head, scratches and countless cuts from the engine. Also have a burning sensation in the back pocket And stretch marks across my face from smiling so hard every time I go round a roundabout without slowing down.... ![]() |
