Post subject: | Hard Brakes Lines for radius arms |
I need to replace the brake lines for my rear subframe and have bought the rubber hoses that go from the subframe to the radius arms but now need the other HARD lines. Can you buy the lines (from the T piece at the front of the rear subframe, and the ones that are on the radius arms)? I can't seem to find any reference to those parts online. Or is the only way to just buy hard steel line, connectors and tools and bending them up myself (short of getting a shop to do it)? |

Any brake and clutch place will be able to supply you with these lines. You will need to bend them to shape, and it would be an idea to take the old one with you so they put the right threads on each end. |

My local mini specialist has everything he needs to make them on the spot. Bundy tube, fittings and templated for the bends. Never had a problem with them. I tried making my own years ago but they were crap. The other thing is get any brake place to make them for you as straight lengths and bend them yourself. All the ones on the back subframe are 3/8" UNF nuts, one male one female. Male threaded ends have single / ball flares, female threaded ends have double flares. Note weather you have a T fitting or a valve at the union, the lengths of the pipes will alter as a result. |

Al, if you have the fittings I can make them up for you when you come down next Saturday. I have the tools and the bundy tube. |
