Post subject: | Removal of Inner Guards |
Hey guys, just looking at a local mini for sale, on behalf of the Father in Law, and Old m8 has said his cut the inner guards out to have easier access to the engine bay, I havn't looked in the engine bay yet, but I was wondering if that would have effects when it came around to rego time? Cheers guys. Nathan |

It should make a difference as the inner guards are part of the front of the mini's structural integrity (not like a HQ or similar where there is a full chassis to hold everything together , the inner and outer guards on a mini are structural) . Some pink slip guy's might pass it but most will fail it as being non standard and needing an engineers report . |

Thats what I thought. Hopefully when I get to have a look, it will either be a small section cut out, or an easy fix. Thanks heaps sports850 |

Fancy removing the inner guards to get easy access to the motor, I usually just open the bonnet. ![]() |

Inner guards are needed on a mini for better cooling. Under bonnet pressure is required so as to push more air through the radiator. Think about it. ![]() |
