I have been asked by a friend to give him an idea of the cost of his private import Austin Traveller. Wiper motor is 12/62 and its very original with approx 35,000 miles on the speedo. Been kept in a garage since it ran out of rego in 1980. It has no rust, some small dents on the roof and passenger front guard but no rust.
Bad part is the engine has now seized. and wont turn over.

I'd say its probably not worth much as an Austin Traveller. Now a Morris Traveller or Austin Countryman could be a different story.... :P

It is purely badge engineering just like in the rest of the mini range. The Countryman was the Austin badged version, the Traveller was the Morris badged version. Main differences were the grills and the badges, everything else was pretty much the same.

Does it have an internal fuel tank with the filler on the left hand side? (as opposed to a tank under the rear and filler on the drivers side)

If it's a late 62 it will probably have the normal van tank, not the internal one like Timbo's.

Michael, without looking at it, and based on the description, I'd say it's worth $5K minimum. If it's got the internal tank, add another $1K for the rarity.

If the paint and interior trim are good, not like new but tidy and original, add another $3K.

This is just my rough idea from watching the values of these cars over the last ten years.

Cheers,

Yes it has the normal van tank with the spare wheel well located just in front.
