NEW PRODUCTS ONLINE FOR YOU IN APRIL

SEAT BELT MOUNTING KIT

This kit allows rear seat belts to be properly fitted to all Mini saloons before they were fitted as standard to the rear bulkhead around 1980 with ‘C’ post mountings being introduced around 1995.

The kit consists of 5 original factory specification brackets which need to be welded to the bodyshell. Once fitted they are virtually invisible, being hidden by your Mini’s standard trim thus preserving the original look of the car – an essential safety feature for all Classic Mini.

With an engineers approval / certificate, I'd say yes, but have a chat to him / her first.

I thought that if your car is pre-ADR (1970's) then engineering is not needed?

If you fit seatbelts, they MUST comply with ADR. Including all their mountings, positions, etc.

I would check with your local road authority before even thinking about buying this. There are minimum plate size requirements (and thicknesses) for seatbelt mounting plates - new - that need to be adhered to.
I'd find out some more information for you if I could be bothered, but it's not hard to find. I'm sure you'd find it with a few minutes googling.

I don't think they'd comply.
In my rover when it was complied the factory seabets in the back were removed, and new belts installed that did not use the same C pillar mounting point. The parcel shelf is deemed stronger (which is bullcrap as it's only spot welded in).

Besides, those pressings will be for a MK3 shell which has all the back windows a different size to aussie cars, so may not fit as intended.
