My ID plate, like many I've seen, has lost some of the black paint. I've seen others where all the paint is gone leaving only the stamped numbers. I guess this happens from some sort of major brake fluid spill of someone stripping the engine bay. Has anyone ever seen the black background restored. I guess it would involve some sort of screen printing. ![]() |

As much as it might annoy us neat freaks I say leave it in its original aged period condition. Looks heaps better than some thing that looks faked up. Brian |

Brian That's true, just a pity it's like that. I'm glad its not like some I've seen that are just a bare sheet of shiny plate with stamped numbers in the middle. ![]() |

you can buy reproductions, but they're not completely correct... I'd prefer having the original you've got there |
