Post subject:  welding advice

Hi peoples

I'm about to weld in a boot floor and front lower on my clubby
what you all think the best way to do it is????
TIG or MIG?????

I can get a gasless mig off a mate so that'd be the easiest

cheers Hoba

I use gasless at work on site jobs, and welding galvo.
But for body work I prefer MIG with solid wire and gas.
TIG is nice if you have one and can use it properly, but IMO MIG is just easier for most things on a Mini.

2 out of 2 Doctors (I'm a Chiropractor) agree that solid wire and gas MIG is the way to go with what you are welding. I've got both MIG and TIG and I would definitely use the MIG, just easier and quicker.

I've also got both TIG and MIG at home, and rarely use the TIG. MIG is much easier and quicker to use for most things, especially when you have large or uneven panel gaps.

Welding a whole boot floor with TIG would be a very time consuming thing! I'd be taking the MIG with gas option everytime.

MIG

try and get a GAS one and use .6 wire. It wont burn through as much.
