It was mentioned on here before, it may be in the next mini experience issue i think?

Wow...32,000 price has gone up..was 25,000 a week ago..

It isn't a 1989 mini i believe?

He's updated the ad, but last i looked it didn't seem engineered as he was selling it as a race car.

This is (was) Steve O'Malley's green race car (with Longman engine) for those playing at home.
The year is genuine.

it is a rover... but who cares what year when it's that cool. NSW rego, you'd expect it to be the one that is registered

If its NSW registered it should be pretty legal.

I remember the hoops that needed jumping through just get a normal Rover done.

If it is road registered making a sticky in "engine conversions" about how that was achieved would be a rather interesting read.
Has anyone got any more details on this :?:

i was sitting at the lights on my bike (sigh), as i saw it spin its wheels from one set of white lines to the other at the intersection outside The Oaks at neutral bay revving the tits off it. It was fat none the less.

We've got a little more info in the next issue of TME.

Basically, though, the car was apparently registered in SA by Steve O'Malley, and the rego transferred to NSW - before the R1 engine was fitted.

The owner says that he has been to an engineer who says the car needs about $3,000 more spent on it to pass for rego. with the R1 engine in it.

Cheers,
Watto

So technically it's illegal  but their is a possibility it can pass rego :?:

By the way Watto when can we expect the next TME

He's playing with fire driving it around like that unengineered.

Sounds like there is more to it, if it was that easy he would have registered it and sold it that way, especially asking that amount of money.

Rego was transferred 8months ago, just finished building it and is now selling it? Engineer didn't pass it perhaps?

I would love to see one engineered here 8)
