Browsing around looking at what is out there. Found this. Thought i'd share. http://www.twminduction.com/ThrottleBod ... ottle.html I'd be interested in finding out what they are worth as a single setup, rather than twin. |

cool ![]() I've had the idea in my head for ages about gutting some SUs and putting injection bits inside them, but trying to keep them looking standard... there was a picture posted a while ago with some SU's missing the dashpot and injectors in it |

Could be done. I'll just be happy with something that bolts up to a single SU manifold. It's just throttle body injection, or 'electronic carby', which is not too different to say an SPI Mini setup, but utilising the great aftermarket manifolds available for single SU's (such as the GR one). No more power than a carby, but able to get it as good as a carby can get. IMO. Mainly because siamese code stuff is way over my head ![]() |

Here's an option for ya Simon. ![]() ![]() All I need is a block like that, and could have some kind of plenum hanging off it, with a throttle body off a moden car hanging off the plenum. Hmmm... |

they'd be soo easy to make! see how I imagine the injector screwed into the bottom of a carb where the jet sits currently - you've already got a throttle body some injection systems have the butterfly downstream of the injector - I think ![]() |

In the rover systems the injector sits right up in the air cleaner housing! Then the butterfly is about 2 inches underneath, the MAP sensor below that, then the air splits off to the inlets from there. I think they do that because timing is easier to work out the further the injector is from the head, but I'm no Guru. On the MPI cars the injectors were right up near the head so it would certainly work. |

Yer MPI have them pointing straight in to the ports of the head. |

yeah, just a vague squirt of fuel to put a bit into the air going in... you can imagine the computer talking to itself "bit now", "fark... already, yeah, give it a bit", "ok... oh crap, too much", "pfft, duzzn matter", "yeah, bugger this, I need a smoke" etc. etc. |

I've never really played with injectors. How are they held in to the manifold? How are the fuel lines (fuel rail) attached? I might draw up what I have in my head. |

The injectors have O-rings on either end. They push fit into a bore that is machined in the manifold and something similar in the fuel rail (Sometimes they also have clips to retain them on the rail end) The fuel rail clamps the injectors down to the manifold. I'll see what I have laying round here and take some photos, would make it easier to understand! Andrew |

That has just explained everything I need to know! Simple! Cheers mate. |
