Hey,

Just wondering what would be causing my 2nd gear to crunch when changing from 3 to 2 but only every now and then? Would it be the selector folks?

I was doing a defensive driving course today and towards the end of day going around a track when i would change back into 2 it would clean the teeth a little bit but when i changed slowly into 2nd it would be fine.

So yeh any help would be great

Thanks Blake

Sounds like a fairly typical worn baulk ring and possibly weak springs in the synchro hub.

he wouldn't have stripped the main shaft where the synchros are

just teach yourself to double clutch when you down change to 2nd

A little pause in neutral before pulling into 2nd might do it. Give the baulk ring more time to slow the gear down.

As for double clutching, if your feet are big enough you should be able to brake and at the same time roll the right side of your foot onto the throttle for the blip.

just double check that the clutch is adjusted properly and is not dragging during gear change.

Yeh i find it i just wait 2 seconds instead of jamming ti straight in that helps.

Tha clutch adjustment was a thought. Im going to get it checked jsut to make sure.
