Hi All,

I'll be looking to repaint the new purchase in the next few months. I'm looking for some BRG variants. I've seen the threads on paint codes and there's some great info on here. Wondering if some kind souls might post some pics on this thread so I can see them 'in the flesh' to help sway me. I saw Jester's deluxe and I'm a fan. I will be keeping the white roof and bonnet stripes though, so that may have an impact on the overall look. Any help would be appreciated!

Here's my starting point...

If that's Barney (which I think it is?) I would simply match the existing paint and re-paint it that same colour. It looks great and is a really good cooper S replica that would be a shame to mess around with (I'd even go back to 10" wheels if it were mine but each to their own).

Sure is Barney. I'm yet to see the car in person, so I thought I would research some options. Do you know which green it is off hand?

Heres my BRG. Unfortunately I don't have the code. It's a standox colour and the painter just asked for BRG for a 68 mini. It is very similar colour to a lot of MGBs I have seen.

Drmini will know and comment, but I think you may find the photo you posted was taken with a filter (or filter effects) and that the real colour is closer to mini68's?

i painted my first car (morris minor) this colour,

it was found in a Dulux catalogue under a BRG search but was called Hawthorn Green, after Mike Hawthorn the race car driver who raced many BMC cars.....

a little trivia for you.

What BMC cars did Hawthorn race? :? I don't recall him racing any BMC products.

There is about 300 different BRGs. BMC/Leyland had about 3 or 4 different ones in Australia. It was just a name to help sell sports cars. There is no official BRG.
Back when international racing was run under national colours a British team could paint their car any colour green that they wanted to.
