Greetings Mini Guru's.

I'm re-assembling the pedal box in my '64 Mini. About to re-spray it black. In my parts bucket I have a flat plate about 3 1/2" long. It was painted black. It has a hole each end (5/16") which are spaced 2 3/8" apart. The plate is shaped a bit like a drumstick (about an 1" wide one end, down to about 3/4" the other. I also have a long spring which could be related. Unfortunatly it's been a long time since stripping this project. Can't put a picture up. My e mail is :
[email protected]

Thanks
Alex.

Thanks for reply. YES it is part 22 as per your diagram.

Well done. Is it somewhere under the bonnet? Could I have undone it to disconnect carby???

Yes it is under the bonnet, it sits between the engine steady bar and the block. It pairs up with item 24 and 23 on either side of the engine steady rubber. Its the only drumstick shaped thing I could think of...mmmm drumstick...

I don't know about getting the carby off, but the engine steady does get in the way if you are trying to undo an exhaust clamp on a stock manifold.

Hmmmmm..........when I put my engine steady back together I don't remember that bit - better check the bucket of 'spare' bits

.Do not worry to Much
21 22 & 23 are used together, but If your car was fitted with 24 Then 22 & 23 are not used

So I'm guessing the use of 24 removes the need for the spacer 23? If so I imagine the drawings just aren't very flattering for 21.

If You look at the bottom of drawing 21 and the top of drawing 24 it gives a little better idea of the difference in the brackets, The use of 24 negates the use of spacer
