Today I did some brake work on Slidey, EBC Greenstuff on the front and replaced the rear cylinders and shoes on the rear as well as adding a pair of new Superfins.
Here is the crazy thing. I had three different brands of rear cylinder, PBR, QH and Brake Engineering and all three had the locating roll pin in a slightly different position, enough to have to drill new holes in the backing plate.
Why do they do this to me?

I believe the roll pin position designates the cylinder size. I came across this detail a few weeks ago and established that there are six alternative roll pin positions, later cars being different to early cars. It would be interesting to hear from somebody that is really conversant with the matter.

Are your sure about that TK? Are 850 drum rear cylinders not different to disc rears?
