it was installed when I collected it...to many years ago and I'm going to put it back on. Can't find a wiring diagram for it in any of my manuals.
I'm assuming the main leads (Battery & Solenoid) are on opposite poles but their is also a Brown. My Guess this is attached to the batter pole but where does it go to

Hi Jim, The floor starter switch has a cable coming from the battery and another going to the starter. The brown wire is the supply wire which goes to the A terminal on the Cut Out/Voltage Regulator. It needs to supply the Light/Ignition Switches and Regulator (If you are still running a Generator). Might be an Idea to see if you can wire up a Fusible link to it as close as possible to the start of the power source. ie right next to the switch. Make sure you keep all these cables away from the Exhaust.
Cheers.

At the moment I have the Generator on but expect to change it to a Alternator with regulator inside shortly. Does this now change things now also just a regular ruse or would you recommend one

Small mod when you change to the Alternator. The Brown / Green (need to check) and the Brown Wires at the Regulator need to be connected together and the regulator removed.

I would have to suggest, while your at this stage of your re-build, to install a starter solenoid and if you have one, an alternator. Both are easy to do, however to come back to do a starter solenoid later could be a PITA, trying to thread a battery cable down between the subframe and body (you could do it the rough way and join the cables under the floor). One advantage that may not be obvious at this time, is it will give you a good heavy current connection, in the engine bay directly to the battery.

Generator will be removed and will not have a Regulator. I actually never seen a regulator scary enough. Solenoid is a New Lucas but have a Gemini Starter being shipped which has the solenoid attached
