Here's my little beast. Cruised it home through th hills last night.
It's a '61 850, though the engine is now 1100.
I can't drive it yet, as it is not roadworthy or registered, and there's a few things to be done first, though nothing serious.
The car is actually blue, it looks green in the photos.
Hope you like. I do.

While I'm thinking of it, how hard is it to ditch the hydraulic clutch and replace with a cable or something a bit quicker?

No. I will just have to get used to taking 5 seconds to get it to the floor. I'll try and get some discs in asap, with the possibility of a booster. Should fit, there's plenty of room.

What ya mean take 5 seconds to hit the floor?

Edit/ Ya don't need a booster... just drive the thing! A booster won't improve stopping power, just means you don't have to jump on the pedal as hard. You loose feeling in the pedal aswell.

The clutch isn't really heavy, it just takes a while to press as if there is a really small pipe for a lot of fluid to pass through.

I have the seats that came out of it, though they are clubby seats.

So far, the engine appears completely stock. Doesn't bother me. The 1100 has enough go while I get used to driving it. It's also nice and quiet, and stock engines are supposed to be the most reliable.

The car doesn't have reclinable seats or seat belts in the back. Will it have to be registered as a 2 seater?

Nope, standard equipment on the car new in 61. No rear seat belts needed.
