Installed a HIF44 witha BEJ needle on the weekend , not totally convinced so I thought I would ask what others are running , also could not fit the spacer between the manifold and the carby do I really need it?
I have a 1293, cooper 997 cam , stock head, Luminition, minisport manifold, 3.44 diff, 10.3 compression.

BEJ is the stock needle for 1.3 HLS metro ( not MG ) should be on the lean side for your engine , i would try a BDL ( stock MG Metro ) your specs seem close to MG Metro specs.

1310cc, lumpy unknown cam, ported unknown big valve 12G940 head, unknown compression, minispares inlet with 0.25" spacer, maniflow lcb, RC40 exhaust.

I started with a BEJ but it was super lean on the dyno.

I now run a BCE which seems good but has not been tested on a dyno. Also tried a BBW which seemed very similar to the BCE.

Some info here too http://www.minimania.com/web/DisplayID/ ... ticleV.cfm

1275cc, Maniflow medium bore LCB, RC40, MG manifold (slightly ported), Inno Cooper head (36/29m), K&N replacement filter in MG filter box. Std. rockers (pressed steel). Modified (per Vizard) HIF6 and modified Rover Cooper dizzy, MG Metro camshaft. 10- 10.5:1 CR.

I use a BBB needle, which has been modified to give a richer top-end mixture. BBB, because it allready has a quite rich mid-range profile.

Cheers,
Jan
