Well it seems like my starter motor has just failed....all very sudden with no warning. I get one loud click when I turn the key. The battery is very good and fully charged. Checked terminal connections and the lead to the starter. Is there any thing else I should check, before replacing the starter? |

Could be just a dud solenoid, there is some way to by pass it for testing purposes but I forget how. Or just take out the starter and test it with jumper leads but make sure you have the starter in a vice or put it on the floor and stand on it. |

That's the funny thing....I've done that with modern cars but I don't know where it is on this car. Is it the thing mounted next to the battery with a starter button on it? |

Solenoid is usually mounted on the side of the motor on the LHS eng steady bracket Where is your battery? |

Where is your battery? Battery is on the left facing it and the thing with a starter button is directly behind it, mounted on the inner guard. |

Also when I push that button only get a slight click.....so faulty solenoid? |

Only two bolts to drop the starter out, as previously suggested the benix might have got jammed, don't go searching out gemini starters just yet! |

Maybe, but usually that is just the start of it (pun intended)......it is a sure sign that it is on the way out..... |
