Post subject:  Clubman door lock rods thread

Hey all,
so I dropped one of the nuts that go on the threaded rod that controls the inside door handle and lock for a clubby into the door cavity. It is gawnnn. Anyone know the thread. I took the rod to local bolt and nut guy and he has no clue

In 'slang' it would be 3/16" UNF but there is in fact no such size.

Its a 10-32.

When I looked at my dye set I thought 10 32 fit the best. Haven't heard this terminology before though as a newb. With that info maybe I can get some nuts...
Thanks again gt mowog

Pull the door lining off, get a kebab skewer and sticky tape a little frdge magnet on the end of it. Troll along the bottom of the door cavity with a bit of a wiggle and there you have it...

I did the same thing with the lock clips and fished them out no worries..

I spent a good 45 minutes trying to get at it. I have a magnet on a stick and got a coupl of washers.. some other litle bits but nothing else. I have spent a good hour looking for a nut that if I can find should cost 10 cents to replace.... heh

hey guys,
Went to the nut and bolt place today to get some nuts. Told the guy I needed 100 -32 or 3/16 and he looked at the rod and said the the rod isn't that. He went and got some 10 -32 nuts and the slipped onto the rod without touching the thread. He said that these would be 8-32 not 10 -32
Im not saying this to try and correct anyone but just passing on the info that was given to me.

Went to northern mini later that day to get some. Andrew said " ohh those they are really rare and expensive, i hope you brought your wallet". Everything that I ask him for he says that about though. He then gave me them for free. I like that guy, he is a pretty cool guy once you actually get to know him.
