With a Tarmac Motorkhana Track - What size area is needed to hold an event ? What are the regulations for an event venue, noise , Council by-laws etc ? If its a CAMS affiliated event venue what would be the insurance coverage / public liability insurance ? Why am I asking these questions ? , well , I may soon be in a position where I can build an Event Venue depending on area needed. So any useful input/ incite is much appreciated, anyone else who wants to fill the thread up with rubbish I will strangle you with your own intestines . |

you need to talk to CAMS about it, asking on here won't do you any good. The Vic mini club's CAMS representative would be the person to talk to. The venue near here we use for Tarmac khanas through both CAMS and AASA is 50m square, and on 3 sides has a wide shallow ditch and bank to stop cars. Apparently it was earth moving engineered to stop a car properly without tipping it over etc. like this: /----\ /------\ / \ / \ / \ _________________________ / \ \_____/ \_____/ |

200m square is a f*cking massive area - what surface do you plan to put down? |

Are you moving to the country Snail? ![]() No I,m not moving , just making some plans within a budget, and no , not a small budget. 200m square of full-depth Hot Mix Asphalt should cost approx $13,000 if I do the site preparation , it all comes down to the bed its going on , if the soil has a higher quantity of clay then the top 10cm has to be removed and replaced with a compacted bed of fine gravel. I want to get as much information as possible before I start sorting out possible sites, after that it will be down to local council rules and regulations- noise, environmental impact etc As far as reasons for site development re council objections, a motorsport venue is a value added asset to boost the local economy . |

Good on ya! Here's a couple of links for you: http://www.cams.com.au/en/Media/News/2009/New-updated-Motorkhana-Test-Booklet.aspx The Vic site: http://www.motorkhana1.webs.com/ Make sure the surface isn't swept of all the loose stones - better with a little bit of slip. |

200 sq meters is not big enough for a motorkhana when you consider a average house block in now about 600 sq meters, I bet you can't motorkhana on that. |

He said 200M x 200M, (=40,000M²) not 200M²... ![]() |

I can't believe you've found a supplier of AC that will supply 40,000m² for only $13,000 ![]() That's lots cheaper than even getting a spray seal done. Who is the supplier and do they have agents in Queensland? ![]() ![]() |
