Why do people love to patronise the BMW MINI owners?
I'm farken sick of it.
Its like the clubby vs. roundnose thing.
Get a **** grip.

The MINI is as much Morris is as the Leyland is the Morris.
What i'm trying to say here is- get ****.

Of course MINI owners would know the origins of their car.
Do you? Do you actually know the full history of the Mini?

Merry Christmas and dont be so **** hard on MINI owners.
-- They've got good taste - and money.

Thanks.

Wow.... harsh.

I think it all has to do with the individual owner.

Most of the pen pushing office-types own them because they are a small + fun BMW. They probably do not give a rats arse, cos its just a car that they will probably sell for a newer BMW in a couple years anyway.

The owners that attend Mini car shows would have a great deal of respect and admiration for the original. These are the people that LOVE their car, rather than just drive it.

There are Morris and Leyland owners out there who come into the "pen pusher" category aswell.

Its all about the individual owner.

I don't know why so many people seem to bag these cars out so badly - what's the point??

I think they've done a great job of capturing some of the character of the original, but into a new package. Let's face it, it would be IMPOSSIBLE to build the same cars with todays regulations and rules (emissions, safety etc).

They're a small (relatively) car which handles like it's on rails, looks awesome, turns heads, is fun to drive and puts smiles on faces of people of all ages. Sound like any other car you know??

It could be a helluva lot worse - we could be VW beetle enthusiasts!! At least BMW didn't release a steaming pile of turd like that!!

hehe Bob i agree about the VWs 8)

Put it this way people, it has revived interest in Minis old and new alike since it's release early this decade. It has sure made the price of old round nose cars and parts go up don't you think? interest is at a high with minis in general since the revival so why complain?

If you haven't driven the new Bini then you shouldn't be bagging it out! it's alot better than some of the other crap out there!

I LOVE classic Minis (obvioiusly), but am planning on purchasing a new MINI when funds allow. Does that mean I don't know anything about the old cars or don't love them.

There are dickheads that drive every type of car. I have had the odd new MINI owner not wave back, but the majority do. There are several people in our club who own both. I think they're more of an "enthusiasts" car than most newer cars, but then again I don't call rice-racers car enthusiasts!! You don't want to know what I call them!!

I think that most Bini drivers are genuine Mini lovers but just want a car that is less trouble and requires basically no maintenance for more than a month. But I reckon there are some out there who saw the new mini and said, 'oh how cute!!!' im gonna get one of those little cars!'

i'm in another mini community, and the majority are BINI owners in the US. the majority of those are 16-18, and have made their parents buy them one. oh dear, some of the stories. at night, i think i can hear gearboxes crying all the way across the sea.
