Hi all,
I'm sticking a few extras on the clubby while it's off the road. I've just stuck in a new CD player with a blackwood dashboard and parcel shelf, driving lights, stage 1 kit and a few other odds and ends.

A few questions, though:

1. I bought some dual washer jets, but when they're in the same place as the old ones, the wiper arms get in the way of the streams. Some blanking plugs were supplied, clearly to cover up the old holes - do I just drill new ones in the bonnet? I'm sure someone else must have had this problem.

2. The clutch is hard - very hard. Can I put a smaller spring on, or does it need to be like this? The clutch is in good condition, it was re-done not too long ago.

3. The heater temperature is currently controlled by a tap under the bonnet, because the cable that attaches to the temperature slider is not connected to anything. But where does it attach? I can't see anything on the heater that controls it.

And on a side note - I've just spent much of the day repairing the floor pan, because some clown's jacked up the car from the footwells (both sides, too). I don't need to replace the weld sealant with anything, do I? I was just going to clean it, prep and paint it

Most washer jets can be adjusted, nearly all for height and some for direction. Put up a pic of yours so we can help.

And yes, they are adjustable, but if they're adjusted high enough to get over the wiper arms, they'll spray right over the top of the windscreen and onto the roof (unless you're driving fast enough, I suppose).

when the wiper arms starts moving it will clear. You do not need to drill new holes for that.
Even if you put it somewhere it does not hit the arms when stationery, it will on some point when the arms start moving

Clutch has been assembled to the wrong height. Probably the flywheel and backplate have been refaced numerous times and the height not adjusted to compensate.
