Post subject: | 13X7 or 13X8 |
Hi all, Im looking at buying some new rims for my mini. I was looking at some 13X8 alleycat wheels. I was just wondering if there is any modifications that i would have to do when comparing to the modification to fit the 13X7 superlights? I have already cut the wheel arches but thought there might be a clearance problem with the offset and shock absorbers. Also is there anything to be gained going to 13X8 besides a smaller turning circle and the beutiful look of a deep dished wheel? Cheers Regards Craig |

Youd gain weight, track, less tyres available, heavier steering. But itd still look pretty awesome with deep dish. |

go with the 7" graig. The superlight 7" will just clear the shockers but just check the inside of the wheel arch as when the suspension is at max up-ward travel and on full lock the tyres will rub . You can fit rack limiters but then loose out on turning circle. |

when i put my 13x7s on i noticed that the 13x8s were a different off set thus having less dish? I thought the 7s were the biggest dish you could get in a superlite/alleycat? I think my 7s look great but they have their drawbacks... |

Thanks for your help. The 13X8 have a stepped dish where as the 13X7 have a flat dish. The main concern was the scrapping of wheels on the shockers. I think that 13X7 are the safest, cheapest and most sensible. Thanks for your help |

my 13x7s are crap... They are hard to hide with metro brakes. Sure they look good but because I lowered it to a normal height it now scrubs.... Pile of crap. Anyone got some 13 x 6 to swap? |
