I disagree. If a business is selling a product at a price which is that much over what they are obviously paying for it people should know about. As consumers there is no reason (other than greed), why there is such a difference in price between the products. I think should be telling each other were the bargains, and where the ripp off merchants are!

I dont know about you, but I would much rather spend the 100 or so dollars profit that that particular business might make on doing something else to my mini, rather than making the businesses wallet fatter!!

I agree! If I were buying comething for $330 and I could get it elsewhere, exact same item for half that then I expect you guys to tell me! You can certainly expect the same from me in return!

As I don't want to get Poeee into trouble, I am refraining from publically commenting on this merchant
I will make the general observation that pricing in Adelaide is typically significantly higher than the easteern states for most things mini :(

Simple way to avoid this is to shop around for the best price! When I was in adelaide I always did and I now have my preffered place to go. If you live in adelaide I suggest you shop around cause some places are significantly cheaper than others!! I cna gaurantee that I am not the only one to discover this, and it amazes me that an item can be 50 to 100 dollars dearer and only be 1km down the road!!

You have found that too? I agree shop around and you can save quite a bit, but I don't limit myself to just local suppliers, I use interstate and even some UK contacts that come in handy at times.

My point is not that I support any particular supplier or this one in particular [I give no endorsment whatsoever to any - [unless some wealthy merchants out there would like to sponcer my project  ] It is quite ok to say "glowing" things about a business in public, but if on the other hand, you use "derogitory" terms about a business in a public forum then that leaves the owners and operators of the forum [Poeee] in jepody

Any merchant is free to set their own pricing structure. As much as it goes against the whole idea of a public forum to discuss the issue - we find that the libal laws in this country make it difficult [without exposing oneself to litigation] to discuss anything but the positive side of the coin. So hence the warning

Good on you JAM. I totally agree that if there is a supplier selling the extact same product cheaper then you should be telling us about it. :D

That what forums like this are all about - sharing the knowledge

I always ring up all four Sydney suppliers before I buy anything, then I check the net just in case.

Ebay is fast becoming a big rip off but I guest if I was selling something on there I would want it to go as high as possible even if the price was rediculous.

ebay isn't a rip off if someone willingly pays the price on offer.... :? ....AND PEOPLE DO!
