Greetings to All.
Was looking at getting a tap n Die set to clear threads of paint etc. In particular, the fine short countersunk thread into the tapping plate (B pillar) which mounts the door locating bracket. (the gizmo the door plastic guide goes in. There are two very short CS screws)

If I buy a kit, do I want UNC, UNF, SAE, Imperial, Whittworth?? There's so many thread types?

Cheers

Most threads on the mini are UNF but there are some UNC ones. Best get a set that has both. Gasweld among others have them.

Or if you want to just get a few loose ones to get you out of gaol, get 1/4", 5/16" & 3/8" in UNF and UNC. They'll cover about 95%+ of the car.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll probably get those. No use buying all the handles again, as I have them in a metric set.

Cheers
Alex.
