Uh Oh Spaghetti O.... Not sure why I never noticed this before?? Perhaps it was one of those "gunna" jobs...?? Strange that it still shifts gears fine? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQ2u0sMPqXU |

the slop doesn't look too excessive - probably quite normal. You could try a new sleeve and roll pins maybe. |

Should there be any play there at all? I would of thought it should be pretty tight? |

As long as the pins are tight (not any chance of them falling out) and there is no 'rotational play' (not sure of the correct engineering term) then I can't see a huge problem with it. Over time the pins will wear into the yoke and make the change sloppy but then it'll just be like every other rod change ![]() |

Hmmm, ok then...! I would of fitted new roll pins when i fitted it up all up. I just wouldnt of expected the shaft to have that much movement inside the sleeve and for the sleeve to have that much movement on the gearbox? |

That movement is normal. If you want to remove that play in it have another sleeve custom made up that is a tight fit over each shaft, Or have it bored out slightly and add an oil resistant rubber or nolothane sleeve inserted so its a tight fit. |

yep, all pretty normal there & in fact quite good compared to some MY advise to every one who uses rod change gearshift tho, is to use some "Tie-wire" through the roll pins as a "Just-in-case" |
