Post subject: | 850 paint codes |
Hi All, Well the painter is finally getting around to giving Marion her new coat and now needs a paint code for Nurburgh White - any ideas? Apparently he can convert from an early Dulux code if required. Also, Marion is a '62 850 - currently the wheels are white - are they body color or Old English White or something like that? Does anyone have the paint code for the correct wheel color? cheers Kevan |

I think the wheels on a 62 850 should be birch silver. |

As you know Kev, our late 63 850 is silver, but i'm sure I read in the TME somewhere that 62's were body colour? Could be wrong. Sports 850 should know, hes the 850 king ![]() |

Kevan, I have the full paint code for this car (i.e. the list that tells you how much tinter to put in when you mix it etc) - had to get it when mine was resprayed (which is Nurburg white). Will see if I can find it tonight and scan it in for you. FWIW, I went to my local motormate who are able to mix paint into a spraycan for you. They retrieved the code and gave me a printout which I then gave to the panelbeaters. If you have a place that does this near you they will probably also be able to find the codes for you. |

Kevan I had some Nurburg white mixed recently. PPG is the paint manufacturer who took over from Dulux. The paint code is 02191. I got my paint from Preston Motors phone 9358 3100. |

grrr... can't find my paint chart anywhere, will have to head back there next time I need touch up paint for a new printout! But if these guys had it, any local place that mixes paint into a spray can should be able to search it using the main code and/or name and then give you the mixing chart. |

I belive (most of my old photos prove this) that the 61 cars were either body colour or white, later cars were silver. Im not sure when the change over period was, maybe ask Sports850 or M1100, they may have a better idea than I. ![]() |

Early 850's had white wheels along with white grills. Not sure when they changed from that, possibly some time in 63/64. |
