I bought a set of door hinge gaskets years ago from Mini Kingdom that were rubber, are these still available?

Does Mini King sell them?? John??

I am not sure if John has them but you can still buy them. That said, the paper gasket type (as original) are better I think.

Cheers

I used a set today while I was failing to fit one of my doors (pineapple shaped door in banana shaped doorframe), but they were a black molded plastic, not rubber. Would that be what you're talking about? These were bought a long while ago, I think from Mini Car Clinic (Sydney). I think they might now be these people:

I agree with the previous poster: these gaskets are not that much chop.

I got some for my Clubman but they didn't line up with the holes very well. I trimmed them up and they were fine. I believe I got them from Minisport in SA..

I do carry these However I do think the original type gasket is the better choice.

Excellent John. I will give you a call today. Im only wanting to replace the two gaskets on the passenger side door. So I wont be removing all the hinges to replace them with the paper ones. If only I knew the paper ones were a better choice all those years ago...

And yes... perhaps they are sort of a plastic rather then a rubber?

Best way to find them will be to buy a new complete set - then the other will be in the first spot you look

Hmmm, this is interesting. Three years ago when my car was resprayed, I researched this paper vs rubber thing, and everyone was a rubber fan. how things change.

Personally, mine have been fine so far.

Maybe not original (but hey, my car is a bitsa), I prefer the rubber ones. I found the paper ones got damp and corroded the doors. On all the Minis we've had.

"..... I found the paper ones got damp and corroded the doors"

Spray them with silicone shoe waterproofing before fitting....
