I will happily sell my set for that.

WOW!!! I think $450 was the list price... my initial thoughts were that the list price was ambitious but achievable. How wrong was I!?

This 8450Jon guy must be licking his chops right now ...... :D

Brenton - I Half agree with your comments mate but I think you (and I) should see this as positive reinforcement in the investements we've made in our cars. They're fast becoming more and more desirable and prices are only going up.

I have one of these at home. I was going to customise it and install in NAV because the surround is a bit cracked and the pcb is rooted. I might have to restore it and sell it for a fortune :D

The market sets the price, if 2 or 3 people want it, then good luck to them.

These prices are no surprise. Scarce part plus lots of people wanting it equals high price. Nothing new.

Hiya,

I too am surprised.

The thing is, I have been collecting GT parts for a while and have three sets of some things - dashes, carbs etc.

But only two (very bare) GTs :D

So some things are for sale.

And I have just bought a Morris 1100, so the boss says I have to sell before I buy.

Strangely, the Morris cost $750!

cheers! jon

Duh! Just realised i got a set sitting in the parts bucket, never taken any notice before but its a 3 cluster with the Tacho, the other car only has 2. Guess it will be going in the car after all. Was looking at refitiing my Smiths gauge set but the Speedo only has 5 digits on the odometer and i think the new law is 6?

does it have the 120mph speedo and 6500rpm redline?

3 gauge clusters are not rare and seem to be worth $80-$120 for a good set. Many Leylands had them Leyland S, SS, LS, 1275LS, Sunshine and probably more that I've forgotten. I've go a few of them

It's the GT ones that are rare, as Simon mentions above, 120mph speedo and 6500 rpm redline.

Were the GT speedos in MP/h? or were they dual scaled with MP/h & KM/h?
I thought we were on the metric side of life by then.

Both mine are dual scale.
