how do you decide which car you are actually modifying when you are grafting two different makes and types... Our original plan was to put a 1600 turbo in Christines suzuki sierra (this is a common conversion for the sierra) but after a bit of mucking about and a measure up we started talking seriously about the clubby body going on too... so far its looking quite doable with preliminary measurements and having a friend who owns a suzuki shop will sure help.. the Question comes to will a clubby shell on a suzuki chassis and motor be a mini or a suzi??? it makes a difference when it comes down to what you can legaly do to the vehicle.. |

thats how i was hopeing the authorities would see it... if thats the general consensus then it might be time to go talk to an engineer... are all laws regarding vehicle mods state laws?? |

Ummmm actually i dont have one of those LOL not for the clubby anyway but Yes it would be the clubby firewall / engine bay in place, so in theory it would be the clubby plate |

Sorry- NFI, I reckon I'd call Qld Roads, engineer or whoever and find out, before cutting and shutting.. ![]() |

yeah its not an urgent matter... i have my hands full atm and the engine swap was something we thought about ages ago as the 1300 is sooooo guttless.. struggles to to 110 on the highway LOL... but its still a reliable little runabout and bush basher so no hurry |

You would really want the vehicle to be considered as a Suzuki still, as it has a full chassis, where as the mini is of unibody construction. In terms of modifications there is more scope when modifying something with a full chassis. This is one you really need to speak to Qld Trans about. As painful as that is ![]() You'll love the 1600 conversion BTW. I did one with a 99 model 1600 with MPFI. Goes great compared to the old carb'd 1300 ![]() Cheers, Damo. |
