??Is there a "thin wall" socket that fits the 1100s big end bolts? What size are they, 9/16" is loose and 14mm very tight. having trouble getting them undone.

It depends which rods are in it. Early rods are same as Cooper S, the bolts are 3/8" and the nuts 9/16". (Sounds like this is what you have).
If the hex corners are damaged, a 14mm socket is a better fit.
I use a 3/8 drive 14mm socket which has had the outside machined down a little to fit in there better.
If you don't have a lathe, just run it round on a bench grinder to take a bit off.

I found that the Sidchrome ones Don't fit, but I have a Toledo one in 1/2" Drive that does.

That's what I did to one of my Sidchrome sockets for that very purpose.

Thanks guys, raided the son's 3/8' drive sockets and the 9/16" fitted. 3/8" drive wasn't a common thing years ago when i used "play" mini's so didn't even think of it.

I only use 3/8 drive in the garage these days, they fit in places where a 1/2 has no chance. 1/2" drives are for machinery and V8 iron.

I pretty much use my 1/4" drive set to work on the mini because I don't want to break anything unless the nuts or bolts are over 9/16ths then it's out with the 3/8ths set or if it's really big and stubbon then it's the 1/2" Rattle gun. Doing things up is either torque wrench assisted or 1/4" set.
