I'm having trouble changing my wheel studs to 7/16. My mini sport sedan is fitted with 7/16 studs. but a lot of them have been arc welded on, and my front discs need replacing.. So I thought I would do it properly and bought some ARP ones. The problem is the Knurl Diameter is a lot bigger than the mini one. The first studs I bought had a knurl of 0.580inch. I drilled out the holes on a drill press and now I have wobbly wheels. I have since found some different ARP studs with a knurl of 0.480inch. Standard mini stud hole is 0.395.
Can I use a reamer to enlarge the stud holes this much? Or do I need something more exact like a rotary table & mill? The photo below shows the 0.580 studs fitted.
