According to the NSW RTA...
Cooper S = 680kg
1275LS = 680kg

According to BMC/Leyland the registration weight (including 2 gallons of fuel)...
Mini 850 = 618.35kg
Deluxe = 638.32kg
Matic = 661.93kg
Clubman = 643.23kg
Van = 592.1kg
Van late = 596kg (edited due to finger trouble)
Cooper = 622kg
Cooper S = 663.63kg
Clubman GT = 678.5kg

So pick a number :lol:

thank you for that.

So technically the weight on my 1973 Leyland Mini Clubman Sedan would be 643.23kg and on my 1978 Leyland Mini Van 696kg? This Correct?

Just guessing...no back seat, no side glass, no bracing behind seat, less steel in the floor(?)..........

my van has its side windows and there is more glass than the sedan, plus you would have more steel in the van, because its longer etc

I have always been told vans are lighter.

So if you want a mini for racing get a van, their lighter and with a longer wheel base they are more stable at high speeds (in theory anyway).

not sure about up in qld, but down here in south oz, almost every sand and metal yard is a registered public weighbridge.

for the princely sum of about 10 bucks most will weigh your car and sign a certificate for you stating the result.

why not put your own car on the weighbridge and find out exactly.....
