I'm having some problems with what I think is the clutch not fully disengaging. With the pedal to the floor selecting reverse crunches (except when cold) and 1st (it's syncro) is sometimes a bit of a struggle to engage..

Pumping the pedal makes no difference.

The clutch adjustable stop was adjusted correctly and the Master, Slave and Hose look OK. The throw out stop was not stopping travel.

To start with I'm going to replace all three clevis pins and the slave pushrod as they are worn and loose.

The ball on the clutch arm looks straight but its worn egg shaped by about 1.5mm.

Is it time to replace the clutch arm too? It looks like the original (MOWOG)

Are the standard replacement clutch arms all much the same (quality wise)?

Try putting it in 4th gear before you try to put it straight into reverse, you should find it helps , it makes it a lot easier on the box.

Yeap, it's time. There are original and non-original ones available. The non-original one's I have use come from Karcraft. They are OK and about half the price of original.

So I've been shopping around online. 

Which are the "originals"? I've looked at most online suppliers and they seem to have the thicker looking arm. Mine is the more slender shape with mowog stamping. Which is what?

Some look to be a brassy colour and others steel colour. They seem to vary from $45 to $59

I don't mind paying extra for original/quality.

Yours does sound like an early original, most likely the same one fitted in the factory. These were up-dated to a heavier arm in the late 70's (?) which is about all that is available these days. Directly interchangable with the one you have, but lacks that original appearance.

Yeah. I reckon if I added up the movement in the 3 clevis pins, the eye of the slave and the ball of the arm I must be looking at at least 3 or 4 mm of play. I'll order a thrust carrier but fit it when I've got a bit more time.
