Before-Image

Stage 2, when i realised that my front cones were more like pancakes and Vera would only go in straight lines-Image

The horn stage, after spending the arvo ratting old subframes for MISSING thrustwashers and doing the old washer lift kit thing-Image

Of course her original wheels and plastic trims are safely stored away

Nice wheels! :)

I think I would still invest in some new cones or good replacements as I reckon the front end will still bottom out and you risk bending and breaking guards and flares.

I had a 1275LS as my first car, I would have loved wheels like that! I remember when you could only get 145 tyres and then Falken brought out a 165 tyre and I could actually stop in the wet!!! In my opinion, they are THE best Aussie mini to drive regularly. See if you can track down a set of the black caps that go over the original wheel nuts, they are a good thing to store away with your original wheels and caps. Nice car! :D
