I bought an electronic dizzy and fitted it, car is running fine so went to set the timing. It is a 998 with what the receipt says is a 'sports' cam. The manual says to set the timing to 5 degrees BTDC but it runs like a pig at that setting. It starts and runs best at around 15-20 degrees BTDC which I would think is very, very advanced. Is this because of the cam? What would be a 'normal' timing setting for a sports cam?
