Post subject:  A bunch of dopen noob questions

I'm just in the final stages of sorting out my Mk 1 before I get it registerd but I have a few questions:

My car has no reverse lights at all, no additional wires running to the rear lights and no reverse light switch. Is this how it is supposed to be? Will they give me a hard to at rego?

My car also has white front parker lenses with a single bulb that runs both the front parkers and indicators. Should the lens be white or yellow? Again, will I get a hard time because of this?

My car came with a central speedo, an oil pressure guage on the left and amps on the right, no coolant temp guage. Where does the temp guage go?

I need to replace the boot stay cables as there aren't any fitted at the moment. Is the end that attaches to the boot fixed using a bolt or screw? Does it need to be counter-sunk into the cable head?

Answer to the first three questions is the same: That's how the factory did it you should be fine.

The boot cable stays are small screws (phillips head I believe), I don't know the size as I've never found anything that fits properly. :?

Well all three aren't exactly factory fit.

The (enhanced) central speedo had the oil pressure gauge on the right and a temp gauge on the left. The amps is a PO (previous owner) fit.

If rego does query anything I've found one standard response usually satisfies them..."its always been that way" I've never found a checking station that had a clue.

Cheers, Ian
