Looks like it uses a magnet type speed sensor set up to calculate the speed, but being desinged for a bike would work off the wheel (like those ones you get for your deadly treadly). I guess it could be made to fit a car, you'd need to attach it to the wheel and mount the sensor somewhere where it wouldn't interfere with steering. I guess you could run it on the back? So technically, yes, it would work. It uses a spark sensor to work out the RPM, so you'd have to make sure it was compatible with a 4cyl 4 stroke. Considering there are 4cyl 4stroke bikes out there, I'm guessing this would be ok. I doubt very much if it would be legal as your only speedo/odometer, but you'd have to check with the authorities on that. The real question is, are you going to be doing 300kmph at 11,900rpm? I think that it wouldnt be legit if it is your only odometer, pretty sure yourmeter need to be able to clock more than 99,999 km. |

mmm thats true crazy bob. Im just wanting to get some new gauges and thought something like this would be abit different. Thanks Superseven, i actually dont mind that one either. Id be looking at outting other gauges in aswell so no fuel gauge is no big deal. And i can only wish that i was doing 300kph @ 11900rpm but no my car has only ever been up to 135kph@5500rpm (on a dyno) so i cant quite see it reaching 300 but it would be nice!!!!! Thanks Blake |

My mini only goes up to 99,999kms on the odometer I believe |

My mini only goes up to 99,999kms on the odometer I believe If your Mini is pre 1980-something then you only need to have an odometer that goes up to 99,999km to meet ADR's. I laugh every time I see a rough Mini on eBay with a "genuine 58,000km" or similar claim. It could be 558,000km, except the odometer would die before it turned that many times.

I have a Acewell 1500, more simple unit. Pretty easy to install actually, using a hall sensor for speedo pickup. I bought mine from here since it was local http://s3performance.com.au/acewell-150 ... p-177.html |
