What is the best heat shield for an exhaust? My muffler is close to my fuel filter and pump and it's very close to my boot floor.
I was thinking either;
galvanised tin,
alloy sheet or,
stainless sheet.
I have access to all of these and don't want to spend any money .

SS wins on 2 counts:
1. It's shiny (reflects heat)
2. It's a poor conductor.

But any will work for you if there's an air gap....

Kenno,,, 2nd hand pressed alloy heat shields from the wreckers is the go,,, there is some really good stuff on the Tickford fords

there square pressed stuff is the best, but the perforated stuff is ok too
