What is the minimum requirment for rego in NSW? Dose it only have to demist or dose it have to be a heater? It is for an 850, so what ever i use i will have to put brackets in anyway, want to do now before car is painted etc something like this would be good, but is local pickup only. is anyone on here in that area ![]() http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... K:MEWAX:IT Add a fan off some sort and it could be a demister. Thanks Scott |

One NSW member here put a 4EFTE motor in his Clubby, for a `demister' he just used a 12V computer fan in top of dash. No heating of air at all... and it passed engineers inspection. |

Would something like this do the job? would you have to use one on each side, or drivers side only? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Heater-12v-150w- ... 1c13f8a095 |

If the car is pre 71 it does not require a heater at all for rego, the heater demister rule only applies to cars built after the introduction of ADRs or in the case of fitting a engine conversion. you can buy 12v hhhhheater demister units from the kit car suppliers in the UK, just grab a copy of one of the UK kit car mags |

i registered my Mini Minor for 10 years in NSW without ever having a heater or demister in it. I only ever put a heater in when I moved to Tasmania well after I registered it. I actually needed it for demisting and heating rather than for the rego inspection ![]() |

I only ever put a heater in when I moved to Tasmania well after I registered it. I actually needed it for demisting and heating rather than for the rego inspection ![]() Back in the 60s, real men drove without a heater. Most common cars (unless top of the line versions) only got a heater as a dealer fit (or aftermarket) accessory. My dad's FE Holden and his VF Valiant both came without one. Demister? You bought a 12V strip heater, it sat on the bottom of the screen with rubber suction cups- they worked, too. ![]() |
