Is it legal to remove bumpers?

Depends on your local state laws.....

Over here we can remove the bumpers on classic cars, as long as the bumper mounting flange is totally removed aswell..... no sharp edges allowed to be pointing outwards (front OR the rear)

Yea every time I'd take the bumper off (I had my reasons) I felt guilty at actualy thinking how cool it looks without one. But that blade like mounting plate thats left there cant be good for pedestrian legs at 45 kph.

Does anyone know if you can get away with this in WA?

If it means removing the mounting flange on the K,
I don't think I'd bother. Just try & find another (straight) rear bumper :(
