so i have been having some trouble starting my car lately cold mornings & in heavy rain for the first time it just died in revs i had to pull over and it would not start. i bought these leads & one was faulty after 5,000kms i just replaced one, the old one was was leaking the spark onto the engine** could see it sparking out the lead. i have a electronic dizzy. so just looking before & thought ill put a glove on it just incase dunno what might help it. then run the car, i just just moved a spark lead & i got a big shock & i can hear a faint clicking sound as if it is shorting onto the body like spark? when it is firing like every 4th plug i can hear the revs drop faintly? well im going to get some new plugs tomorrow for the car but do you think this would be my problem all along? shorting it self out? the car is tuned carbs have been tuned timing is spot on. ps that shock scared the crap out of me lol. ![]() |

Check the plug gaps. Make sure everything is clean. Road grime and oil on the distributor cap and leads can cause shorting. Good plug leads are better than good looking plug leads. |

They are $5.99 ea now. I just bought a spare coil one (B61Cdi)- it's 600mm long, the coil is mounted on the RH inner guard behind the Matic heater. Nice and dry... ![]() |
